Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship

Program Description

The Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship is a one-year program designed to prepare the fellow be a leader in the field of Clinical Ultrasound. Fellows hone their own ultrasound skills in our five nationally recognized Emergency Departments and work hand-in-hand with our four fellowship trained ultrasound faculty as well as other physicians and educators to provide point-of-care ultrasound education for residents, medical students, and practicing clinicians. Ample opportunities exist for research in Emergency Medicine, both independently as well as in collaboration with other departments such as Critical Care and Anesthesia. Weekly Grand Rounds provide the fellow with the opportunity to gain education regarding the administrative components of an ultrasound program, including quality improvement/assurance through image review, credentialing, and billing. Throughout the year fellows attend multiple national conferences focusing on the expansion and improvement of Clinical Ultrasound. Upon completion of the fellowship fellows are ready to lead an ultrasound program either at an academic center or a community hospital.
