Dr. Yates' academic interests focus on resident and medical student education as well as procedural sedation and analgesia. He is involved in teaching multiple courses to both residents and students. Dr. Yates is also the Associate Chief of Emergency Services at UPMC Mercy and is involved in the administrative functions of the department. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, fly fishing, and fine food.
