Allan B. Wolfson named "Residency Director of the Year" by Emergency Medicine Residents Association

Allan B. Wolfson, MD, FACEP, Professor and Vice Chair of Education, University of Pittsburgh, Department of Emergency Medicine, was chosen the “Residency Director of the Year” by the Emergency Medicine Residents Association. He received the award at the SAEM meeting in Chicago on May 11, 2011.

Dr. Wolfson has been program director of the Pitt emergency medicine residency since 1988, developing an outstanding and highly sought training destination for students from excellent schools around the country. His 275+ former residents have strong, prosperous
academic and clinical careers - leading medical schools as deans, departments as chairs and chiefs, and organized medicine in many roles. Hundreds of thousands of ill and injured ED patients are better because of his dedication to teaching.
