On April 7, 2016 the Pennsylvania College of Emergency Physicians named Michael A. Turturro, MD, FACEP as the EMERGENCY PHYSICIAN OF THE YEAR.  Dr. Turturro is Chief of Emergency Services at UPMC Mercy and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, University of Pittsburgh. 

This honor recognizes his excellence in care, leadership, education and impact in Pittsburgh and throughout the commonwealth and the United States.  Dr. Turturro started with his residency at the University of Pittsburgh in 1987 and continued his career at Mercy Hospital. It is an honor for us to have someone like Dr. Turturro on our team;  he always performs at the highest levels
