David Barton, MD, MS

Biographical Sketch

David Barton, MD, MS, is an emergency medicine physician and clinical-translational researcher in the Department of Emergency Medicine.  Dr. Barton’s research focuses on identifying blood-based biomarkers and imaging biomarkers of traumatic brain injury (TBI), with the goal to advance understanding of TBI pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment.  Dr. Barton’s research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense, and he has presented his research nationally.  Dr. Barton has additional sub-specialty interests and experience in wilderness medicine and prehospital emergency medical services.  Dr. Barton is a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM).
