Dr. Sims has interests in medical education, risk management and quality care delivery. He has been active in teaching medical students and emergency medicine residents. He was the emergency medicine representative for the University of Pittsburgh teaching program at Aso Iizuka Hospital in Japan. He also has also been involved in educating emergency medicine residents and physicians on a national level through the AAEM Oral Board review. He sits on the legal committee for AAEM and has lectured widely on the subject of risk management. He has achieved great personal reward in his clinic work and direct patient care
